Mission
We are called to be “Little Jesus-es” where we are by...
Missional living – seeking and living out God’s Missional call in our local community by socializing with those who do not yet know Jesus.
Sharing Stories – talking about Jesus in casual, ordinary and culturally relevant ways to those we know.
Serving and giving – generosity and hospitality.
Justice – being inspired by the Holy Spirit to act on issues of social injustice.
Concepts
We are influenced by the concepts of...
Incarnation – Jesus came and lived within his local community.
Being part of the Kingdom of God now and this Kingdom confronts both individual evil and evil systems.
Liminality – We are “on the journey but have not yet arrived”. We seek to be open, responsive and adaptable.
A New Church paradigm – We see the church as we know it is changing. Some may refer this to this as the Emerging Church.
Storytelling – Living in a community that is influenced by post modernity we see storytelling and listening as the way of communicating. Likewise, stories reach across cultures and heighten self worth.
Cultural Context within Scripture – Jesus lived within a Jewish culture. Similarly, much of the Old Testament is Hebrew narrative; without acknowledging context we will misunderstand the message.
